Weaving and Dyeing
The picked organic cotton is sent to our workshop in Erode, South India, known as the 'handloom town' where it is coloured using natural and azo free dyes, thus reducing the environmental impacts of our fabrics. Our weavers then hand weave the organic cotton canvas onsite in a contemporary 12-acre loom studio. This is a state of the art facility, with green building certification and powered entirely via Swiss solar power technology. The studio comprises two sheds that each measure 6,400 square feet, that house a total of 54 traditional wooden looms, so the space is clutter free, light and well ventilated.
